Sometimes babies are super happy for their sessions, other times no matter what you do you cannot get a single smile.  Little Jaydon came in twice for his Greensboro First Birthday Pictures and wasn’t having it either time.  The first day I called it quits because I knew he was upset and wasn’t going to calm down, it turned out he had a fever and was feeling really miserable.  The second time he still didn’t love pictures, but he was so cute that it really didn’t matter:)

Lots of times parents want the super smiley pictures, but I love capturing their personality and many facial expressions, whatever they may be, to truly document what they are really like at that stage.  Because THAT is the way you want to remember your baby, every perfect little look and expression they give, from the happy can’t sit still legs to the puckered up lips and everything in between!

PS If you are in the market for gorgeous eyelash extensions, a relaxing facial, mani/pedi or other special treatment be sure to check out his mom, Jenna’s business Eye Salons in Greensboro.  She and her team are amazing.

Who doesn’t love a baby who is dressed up for Christmas?  The only thing cuter is when you have twins so it’s double the cuteness!  This mama wanted a quick Greensboro Mini Photo Session for her babies for their Christmas card.  I photographed their mom shortly before she had them, then again when they were about 10 days old.  Here they are at 4 months new.  These two Christmas babies couldn’t possibly be any cuter!  If you’d like to schedule a Greensboro Mini Shoot or Greensboro Christmas Photos now is the time to book while I still have some openings!

The last time I saw the beautiful little Hannah was for her newborn session.  I remember thinking she was one of the most gorgeous babies I had ever seen. She had the most incredible, long, dark eyelashes and dainty features.  She is just as gorgeous as a one year old and definitely knows how to make for a good Greensboro Cake Smash Session.  Her mom e-mailed me later that day saying her hair still felt like it had a really good cream rinse after 2 washings!  Happy First Birthday, Hannah!

Chloe turned one and her parents brought her to my home studio for her Greensboro First Birthday Cake Smash and Portrait Photo Session. I have been photographing the Isom family since their wedding several years ago.  I’ve loved watching their family grow from the first baby bump to the last, and all the newborn, milestone, and family sessions in between and since then.  They’ve been awesome clients and friends and it’s always fun to catch up when we see each other at their sessions.  Here is their baby girl, Chloe enjoying some cake (and milk!) and being cute as ever:)

Sometimes expecting and new moms have so much on their plate with a new baby here or on the way that newborn pictures often times get forgotten until it’s “too late”.  I have people contact me all the time wishing they had gotten newborn pictures of their baby in those first few weeks of life.  If you are overwhelmed with a new baby and have a to-do list a mile long, don’t worry, you can still have beautiful pictures of your baby!  Jasper was 2 months old when he came to me for a mini session.  It wasn’t a typical posed newborn session, but the photos turned out darling and showcased his budding personality perfectly.  He had so much personality and great eye contact for an almost 2 month old baby!

So new moms, don’t stress and beat yourself up if you missed that two week window for newborn pictures.  I’ve had so many people find out about me when their babies were around two months old and we start milestone sessions then.  It’s been so fun watching those sweet babies grow just like my maternity and newborn clients:)  To book a Greensboro Newborn Photography Session for your newborn, fill out the contact form and let’s get your sessions set-up! I look forward to hearing from you!
